Opinion: Wearing A Choker Increases My Libido But It Doesn’t Make Me Slut

As a long time sufferer of a contagious disease known as wanderlust, I tend to have an open mind when it comes to the language of fashion and its underlying mating calls.

My big hoop earrings might make me a hoe in Australia, but they signify grace and power in Kenya.

That said, I have found one commonality across the globe.

The choker.

When I put on my first in the Spring of 2012 it was eye opening. As the plastic strap (at that time I wasn’t ready for leather) tied around my neck I immediately felt a rush down my spine.

Like being liberated from dating regular men and introduced to my dark mysterious lover, I entered a new world of honest expression and sexual energy.

I was one. I was ready to be choked.

Since buying my first choker six years ago, I’ve slept with over 20 guys.

Asian, white, African, Jew, German. All the flavours.

I’m no slut. I’m sexually expressive. As sexually empowered as an Asian female can be.

Choke me.

My latest choker inspired by Jenn Im aka Clothesencounters is the perfect fit. The grip restricts my breathing just enough so I can still mouth the lyrics to my favourite Fifth Harmony track at the club.
