Opinion: Eating Pad Thai Doesn’t Make You Cultured

I’m looking at you, you uncultured swine

Correct me if I’m wrong, but there seems to be a growing trend of Caucasian individuals who eat pad Thai and who think they know Thai culture.

This is problematic.

As a bisexual, pan-racial, quasi-promiscuous foodie, I know Thai cuisine like the great baseball player LeBron James knows how to pitch a baseball.

In other words, I’m a connoisseur.

So it brings me and I’m sure the Khmer people of Thailand great pain when people opt for Pad Thai over some of the great Thai options out there.

Pho Dat Biet anyone?

Stop slapping Thai culture across its face, stop being a swine.

Khawp khun khrap – Jen.

Editors note: Jimmy Casino, who was originally proofreading this article, attempted to inform Jenny that by writing this piece, she, graciously, would be drowning in her own irony.

Jenny then told Jimmy to stop mansplaining and to ‘say it to her face’.
